Chelsea & Gavin's wedding at Melville Castle

25th August 2017
As I write this Blog , the wedding seems so long ago... it was actually 5 weddings ago in my diary... but I've been looking forward to sharing the day with everyone.
Twas a strange day... when I got to Chelsea's parent's house, everything was really relaxed, and the girls were all in their proper frocks... dad in his kilt with bags of time to spare.
This can be the first part of the day I loose time, as I can't go anywhere until the bride is ready.
But we were out in the gorgeous sunshine, in the back garden doing bridal photos & family shots... then also a photo of Chelsea and sister Kirsty on the spot where they had a new school photo taken every year growing up.

I left Chelsea , and I kid you not my last words to her before leaving for Melville Castle were "It's probably pouring at the Castle". So I get on the main road and drive into a monsoon !

The guys were frantically trying to get the back lawn set up with the afternoon haystacks and games - all of the groomsmen wearing bin bags to try to stay dry.

I lost count of how many times I said to the Piper as the rain stopped briefly "I think that will be it for the day." then it would start pouring again :/

But so what, Melville Castle is nice enough inside so I wasn't worried.
Chelsea soon arrived and Tim Maguire (head honcho Scottish Humanist) got us underway with a beautiful ceremony... oh ... apart from the bit where he stopped and asked "does the photographer want to come up here for a photo" .. whaaaaaat ... stop looking at me everyone ! lol

After the ceremony and the guests were all tucking into the fineries, I camped out in the car for an hour and planned where to go for the photos as soon as I saw our newly weds appearing from upstairs.

We managed to just catch the sun before it went behind the trees, then after a few friends group photos it was time for the dancing.

Melville Castle is a grand venue, and I reckon I can add it to my list of "fine weather proof venues".

Chelsea & Gavin are a great couple. Very easy going and fun to be around. I was very happy to be their photographer.

Take a wee look at the slideshow below, and after that have a look at the full Gallery of photos with the link below that.
